Regional Network
For MBC’s regional network in Southside Virginia, Nortel’s Optical Multiservice Edge (OME) 6500 Platform has been deployed, offering a robust, reliable and scalable infrastructure. MBC supports all OC-x services as well as DS1/DS3 services through the Nortel system. The network is owned and managed by MBC.

Long Haul Network
For Long-Haul Transport Services, MBC has purchased IRU fiber from Atlanta to McLean, Virginia and has purchased redundant fiber from McLean, Virginia to Equinix-Ashburn. MBC has deployed Infinera’s Digital Transport Node (DTN) system, providing 200Gig of capacity between Atlanta, Charlotte, Raleigh, Richmond, McLean and the Equinix facility in Ashburn, Virginia.
